GK Folks Foundation (GKF) is a non-profit organization established in Utah with the focus of providing educational & entrepreneurial resource opportunities to African students in diaspora. GKF started the Utah/Idaho African Scholarship Fund initiative to help African students pursue their educational goals with a promise to give back to their respective African countries in the near future. As an organization we believe having quality education, entrepreneurship skills and financial resources such as “Start-up Capital” is the key to solving Africa’s economic and poverty issues.

GKFolks Foundation came from the passion of one young African woman for sharing her ancestral heritage with the world. Gloria Mensah, an inspired woman and the then President of the UVU African club transformed the perception of Africa in the eyes of the local community, and the state of Utah. With an urge to promote African culture and help African students gain better education through scholarship opportunities, Gloria established GKFolks Foundation.
